In a few days, I will be heading off to Florida for vacation – will be leaving this coming Saturday and will not be coming back until the beginning of next year. This is a vacation that I am really looking forward to as I will be the first to admit that I am not a winter person at all. Thus, living here in the midwest can be a bit challenging for me. Today, it has been snowing most of the day and according to the forecast, a storm is on its way, dumping about a foot of snow on us. I just hope that I will be able to escape town on Saturday – and it will not be a moment too soon.
I am finishing the year off on a good note though. I have finished was I hope will be the final revision of my new novel. The thing of it is, is that I have not come up with a title for it yet – 85,000 words but no name. I shall have to think upon it over vacation. The premise of the novel is this:
Marek and his lover Randy purchase an old farm house. One day, a handsome ghost appears to Marek in the kitchen. Marek decides not to tell Randy and wonders if the ghost will reappear. A couple of weeks later, Marek discovers an old suit in one of the drawers in the attic. He puts it on, feels dizzy, faints and wakes up in the year 1870. On his “return” back to his own time, he discovers that the handsome ghost – named Eli – is murdered by his own brother and Marek takes up upon himself to try and stop the murder. Of course, this means another visit to 1870.
So there you have it – a synopsis of my “title-less” novel. Time to do some brainstorming I guess. I actually have not given the title much as I was mainly concerned with getting the story written. If I remember correctly, this was the same issue with my first novel.
