Faxing Signed Contracts without a Fax Machine

signing a document

Yesterday, I posted an article about how I got rid of my fax and replaced it with an online service. A reader wrote to me and asked:

“That’s all well and good. But what about if someone needs your signature on a document like a contract? This would surely require a physical fax machine.”

As part of my business, I regularly receive contracts via online fax requiring my signature . The process I use is:

  1. Print out the document.
  2. Sign it where required.
  3. Scan it into my computer to .pdf format.
  4. Fax the signed .pdf document back to the person using my online fax service.
