Kiernan Shipka totally rocks her role. She brings this blend of vulnerability and badassery that’s near perfect. Her performance? Spot on! She’s like Nancy Drew if Nancy had to deal with time travel and a psycho killer on the loose.
Now, let’s talk setting because the ’80s throwback is REAL. The movie nails the aesthetic, from the music (hello, retro jams!) to the outfits (I’m eyeing those legwarmers, not gonna lie). And the attention to detail? Impeccable. It’s like a love letter to the era but with a modern twist.
But, and there’s always a but, right? Some parts of the movie felt a tad predictable. Like, you could sometimes guess what was going to happen next. And a few ’80s references might go whoosh over the heads of the Gen Z crowd. But hey, no movie’s perfect!
But “Totally Killer” is more than just outrageous gags and shoulder-pad shenanigans. It’s a story about friendship, loyalty, and facing your fears, even if those fears involve, you guessed it, a masked killer with a very sharp knife. This film’s got laughs, heart, and some genuinely touching moments.
